Why We Exist

We started Paurush because men were handed two bad options and told to pick one.

Aisle one: a bar of soap dressed in black packaging with a name like ARCTIC STEEL, formulated to strip your face like a deck. Aisle two: a twelve-step regimen with a glossary, built for someone with forty unhurried minutes and a different life than yours.

We kept standing between those aisles asking the same question. Where is the third option? The one for a man who takes care of himself the way he takes care of everything else: efficiently, consistently, without ceremony. Nobody had built it. So we did.

The Word We Borrowed From Sanskrit

Paurush (पौरुष). It is an old word, and it does not translate cleanly. The lazy translation is "manliness." The real one is closer to strength of character: the discipline to do the unglamorous things, daily, that everything else in your life is built on.

Nobody writes poems about washing your face. But that is exactly the kind of thing the word means. Small effort, every day, compounding quietly. We could not think of a better name for what we were building.

This is not a starting lineup we plan to bloat. It is a philosophy: your face needs three things done well, not twelve done loudly.

Three minutes, morning and night. Done.

What We Refuse to Do

No parabens. No sulphates. No silicones. No added fragrance. No testing on animals, not ours, not our suppliers'.

And one more refusal, rarer in this industry than all the others combined: no miracle claims. We will never tell you a cream erases a decade or that results arrive overnight. Skincare works the way strength works, gradually, then noticeably. Give it four weeks of consistency and your mirror will make our argument for us.
